Reflection
This is the
last blog for A Discourse Approach in Reading. After I finished this course I
know the techniques of reading. This course is very helpful to me. It is used
for learning and practical results. It makes me read, understand and summarize
our words. I am going to tell you about "Learning reflection"
What was I
learning about A Discourse Approach in Reading course?
I studied
many lessons for this course.
* Recount - That is about the unfolding of a sequence of events. It has three types: Personal Recount, Factual Recount, and Imaginative.
* Recount - It tells the series, events, or stories that happened.

* Recount - It tells the series, events, or stories that happened.
* Narrative - It was the reader talk about interest and it made me know, how to understand the stories by noticing each paragraph.
* Descriptive - That is to
describe a particular it can be a person, place, or thing. It helps me understand
in text.
* Procedure - That is to
tell the reader how to do or make something. It made me know how to present or
tell the information in events. So, for this lesson, the teacher assigned me to
make the video for presentation how to cook food also in my group cook a strawberry
and mango yogurt.
* Comparison and Contrast - That is the pattern presents similarities (comparison) between two or more things, differences (contrast) between two or more things, or both similarities and differences. It made me know how to compare and contrast.
* Cause and Effect - That is used to show how the facts, events or concepts. It made me know what the causes are, and what the effects in the text are by finding the discourse marker of cause and effect.
* Definition and Classification - That Classification is to divide general concepts into a number of different types, and Definition helps us to know the meaning of technical terms.
* Exemplification - That is adding more information to explain, persuade, define, or illustrate a general idea.
* Problem and Solution - That is a pattern of organization where information in a passage is expressed as a dilemma or concerning issue (a problem) and something that was, can be, or should be done to remedy this issue (solution or attempted solution).
What did I
find the easy things?
For this
course, had something easy for me is Examples of each article. Before each
lesson which when I see example text I can guess what we will learn. What is
the subject matter of the course?
What did I
find the difficult things?
I found some
difficult reading and speaking. Because some words that I couldn’t pronounce it
correctly and some of them I didn’t know the meaning and I searched the meaning
on my smartphone at once.
How did I
solve these problems?
For this
course. I find the problem that matter of how to reading the words and I do not
know the meaning of the vocabulary. Which I have a solution to fix is. After
each lesson is finished. I summarize the content of each story by using your
own words for be easy to understand. Interpretation of unknown words. And use
the Cambridge Dictionary to listen to how to pronounce because it can pronounce
correctly.
What is my
attitude toward this course?
For the
attitude to study this cause, it makes me want to read more. Because I can
understand more about reading, which I use to read the lessons learned. It made
me understand. l thanks so much the teacher who teaches me to had more
knowledge.
